Rising Action

Commissioned by ArtsBuild, Rising Action is a community-oriented project in Chattanooga, TN that draws attention to climate-related issues taking place in one of their most affected neighborhoods. Centered around two towering inflatable sculptures that embody the energy of water and fire, their size aims to reflect the scale of the issues brought on by a changing climate. The sculptures are accompanied by a sound score created by Summer Dregs that includes voices of community members discussing forces in their lives that are both within and beyond their control (link below). At both moving and stationary events the inflatables act as a focal point, drawing people in so that we could educate them about pressing environmental concerns.
