Vinyl print, MDO, wood, steel, rubber, sandbags / 12’ x 35’ x 14’ / 2021

Summit depicts a distant mountain peaking up from behind a building. In reality it is a flat image attached to a freestanding steel structure held in place by four tons of sandbags. While its primary role is to be a mountain in a place where one does not exist, it is also operating as an allusion to the mile-deep lake that once covered the entire region where the piece is located. Its depiction operates as the imagined source of that glacier.
